‘All That Mattered (Love You Down)’

‘All That Mattered (Love You Down)’ (Innervisions mix) is already an anthem at Pacha for Roger Sanchez. This debut release for De Nuit is the soundtrack to complete a luv’d up, lazy summer in Ibiza. The Italian nightlife lovers have produced what is arguably one of the dance tunes of the year.

‘All That Mattered (Love You Down)’ mirrors Ready For The World’s 1986 US hit ‘Love You Down’, echoing the imaginative sweetness of the song and twisting it into a massive floor-filler whilst maintaining the emotive magic of the original.

De Nuit comprise Italian production duo Francesco De Leo and Fabio Seveso. Aptly naming themselves De Nuit – French for ‘the night’ – the pair spend most of their nights producing, mixing and generally living while most of us are asleep. “Sensations, feelings and right ideas are always born at night” offers Fabio.

Finding inspiration from their early clubbing experiences in Milan, Francesco and Fabio took up DJing and were soon filling dancefloors across Italy whilst working at the National radio station RTL.

Back to the track… Innervisions and East Sunshine mixes feature the additional touch of Nick Ferrando from Music In Head throwing in a funky break alongside the sweet subtle vocals of the original. On remix duty Coloursound strip things down only to beef it back up again with a simpler blend of sounds – mixing pounding breaks with live bass. Finally, in steps Junior Jack with a mighty party vibe, starting all electro and soon building into a blurry-eyed, warm phat break and heavily driven bass line.

The package is complete and De Nuit manage to prove that ‘All That Mattered’ here was the music.
